Nadi astrology is a particular form of Indian astrology, which is practiced in Tamil Nadu.
According to its concept, everything related to the past, present and future of all the
human beings were foreseen by ancient sages. They composed these Nadis and astrologers can
now refer them to predict the future of people.

It is believed that the astrological predictions were written in Vatteluttu. It is an
ancient Tamil script. The Rishi who received these revelations and wrote them was named
Agathiyar. The ancient writings were made famous by practitioners around the Vaitheeswaran
Temple in the state of Tamil Nadu, and their efficiency made them popular around the world.

The writings are in the form of leaves, which were initially stored in the premises of
Thanjavur's Saraswati Mahal Library in Tamil Nadu. It was only after the British
apitalists who showed interest in the Naadi leaves that they came into light. The main
objective of these capitalists were to find cures with herbs and medicine, future
prediction, etc., in the hope that they could make money out of the ancient science.
